I’m sharing this clip about The Rose Revolution in the country of Georgia and how it did better under capitalism than under socialism because I went there when it was breaking free of the Soviet Union’s influence for a wedding and we actually lost a guest to some gunplay. I was protected by a toothless shepherd with a Kalashnikov so felt relatively safe.
Its capital Tbilisi was famous for having some of the oldest people in the world because they led a life of exercise and fresh food – supplemented by local hooch and ghastly Russian cigs. It is an amazing little country with its own alphabet and I for one will forgive them for giving birth to the monster, Stalin.
